Spring colors at smART Hub Living Labs: Creative imprints by ISCM students
As the Lunar New Year approaches, the atmosphere of spring gently fills Campus V of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). Familiar glass windows are gradually adorned with vibrant spring motifs such as blossoming apricot and peach branches, soaring swallows, and decorative patterns inspired by traditional Tet culture. All of these artworks were hand-painted by students of the Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM) as part of the glass painting activity welcoming the Lunar New Year 2026.

The StudioLab space became more lively than ever as students gathered to paint, mix colors, and carefully complete each brushstroke. Some focused intently on detailing flower petals, while others stepped back to observe the overall composition and make adjustments for greater harmony. Each glass panel is not only a decorative artwork, but also a reflection of creativity, collaboration, and the joyful anticipation shared by ISCM students during the final days of the year.
The glass painting activity was not limited to the StudioLab, but was expanded to various areas across Campus V – UEH, including the UEH Boutique Hotel. Through this initiative, ISCM students contributed to refreshing the learning, working, and experiential spaces of Campus V, creating a spring atmosphere that feels warm, familiar, and uniquely distinctive.

Beyond its decorative purpose, the activity also provided an opportunity for students to connect, collaborate, and create meaningful memories together before the New Year. Through each brushstroke, the spirit of Tet was naturally spread, while also highlighting the proactiveness, creativity, and sense of responsibility of ISCM students in shaping shared spaces.
The spring-themed paintings on glass windows serve as a warm New Year greeting, carrying joy, excitement, and hopeful expectations for a promising 2026. For ISCM students, this was not merely an extracurricular activity, but a learning experience closely linked to practice, creativity, and community engagement.

More than just a place for learning and working, Campus V – UEH, also known as smART Hub Living Labs, is the first Living Lab model at UEH. This space is developed with a vision toward net-zero emissions, while harmoniously integrating technology, art, and community participation. In this context, art plays a vital role as a bridge that fosters deeper interaction and connection between people and sustainable urban spaces. Creative activities such as glass painting vividly demonstrate how ISCM students actively contribute to “activating” the smART Hub Living Labs, thereby spreading UEH’s spirit of innovation and sustainable development.
Below are some highlights from the activity.
