The Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM), University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), announces the recruitment of two positions: Specialist and Collaborator in Smart City Visualization. These opportunities are intended for candidates interested in spatial design, 3D modeling, interactive technologies, and data visualization solutions who wish to contribute to the development of technology-driven products supporting research, practical applications, and technology transfer in the field of smart cities.

Opportunities to develop technology products and interactive platforms for smart cities

ISCM promotes research, development, and technological applications to support urban research, spatial data visualization, and the communication of research ideas, scenarios, and findings through visual, interactive, and practically applicable products.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work alongside the Smart City Research Lab and the Immersive Technology Convergence Center, contributing to interdisciplinary projects that integrate urban research, spatial design, 3D modeling, data, and interactive technologies.

Key areas of work include the development of interactive websites, Digital Twins, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Extended Reality (XR), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), holograms, projection mapping, and real-time visualization environments. Candidates may also contribute to integrating data, sensors, technological devices, and multimedia content into products supporting smart city and Living Lab projects.

For the Specialist position, responsibilities extend to technology product lifecycle management, project planning and resource coordination, schedule and quality control, testing, pilot deployment, and product delivery. Specialists also contribute to research and development, evaluating practical applications, preparing intellectual property documentation, and exploring opportunities for technology commercialization and transfer.

Through these activities, successful candidates will not only strengthen their design and technical capabilities but also gain exposure to the processes of research, product development, and the application of technological solutions in real-world urban contexts.

What candidates is ISCM looking for?

ISCM is seeking final-year students, graduates, and experienced professionals from backgrounds including architecture, urban planning, urban design, multimedia design, graphic design, information technology, computer science, Smart City, Urban Science, Urban Engineering, and related disciplines.

Suitable candidates should demonstrate proficiency in 3D modeling and environment-development tools such as Blender, Unreal Engine, and Revit, along with strong aesthetic judgment, spatial thinking, composition skills, and the ability to translate research ideas into visual models or products.

ISCM particularly values candidates with knowledge or experience in programming, website development, UI/UX, XR, AR, VR, holograms, projection mapping, motion graphics, data processing, or prototype development.

For the Specialist position, candidates are required to have at least two years of professional experience in 3D visualization, interactive technology products, Digital Twins, BIM, XR, or smart city solutions, as well as experience developing, managing, and completing technology products. A master's degree, scientific research experience, or previous involvement in interdisciplinary projects is considered an advantage.
