Smart Liveable City Study Trip - Singapore 2026
An experiential learning journey into one of Asia’s leading smart and liveable cities
As cities around the world are rapidly transforming towards smart, sustainable, and human-centered development, Singapore is widely recognized as a leading model for its harmonious integration of strategic urban planning, advanced technologies, and a high quality of life. As part of the 2026 event series “Glocal Innovation for Sustainable Living,” ISCM, in collaboration with the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (SUTD), will organize the SMART LIVEABLE CITY STUDY TRIP in Singapore from 5–8 March 2026.
This program offers students from the Bachelor’s program in Architectural and Urban Design inclusive Smart City, and the Master’s program in Smart City and Innovation Management a valuable opportunity to engage in hands-on learning in Singapore, gaining direct exposure to advanced urban models, spaces, and solutions that have been successfully implemented in the city-state.
Program Objectives
Experience firsthand Singapore’s smart and liveable urban development models
Understand how Singapore integrates urban planning, technology, environment, and people
Broaden international perspectives on sustainable urban development and its applicability to the Vietnamese context
Bridge academic knowledge with urban practice through observation, analysis, and thematic discussions
Key Learning & Site Visit Highlights
Singapore’s approaches to urban resource, environmental, and data management
Public spaces, smart mobility systems, housing, and urban infrastructure
Site visits and learning from representative urban case studies
Value for Students
Strengthen holistic and interdisciplinary urban thinking
Provide direct support for coursework, studio projects, and career orientation
Gain international learning experience and enhance observation, analytical, and critical thinking skills
Students of Batch K50 in the Bachelor’s program in Architectural and Urban Design inclusive Smart City may opt to submit a post-trip report to fulfill the requirements of the Urban Study Tour course
