What makes the Bachelor of Smart Operations and Mobility Management (BMOM) different?
When exploring a university program, what matters is not only the curriculum but also the opportunities and advantages available from the very beginning. At the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), the Bachelor of Smart Operations and Mobility Management (BMOM) stands out through four key strengths: alignment with future industry trends, interdisciplinary integration of technology, hands-on learning experiences, and early career support.

BMOM is the only undergraduate program in Ho Chi Minh City that provides specialized training in smart operations and mobility management across multimodal transportation systems, including road, rail, aviation, and maritime transport. The program is strategically designed to develop a workforce that supports Vietnam’s long-term development goals for 2035–2045, including the expansion of urban railway networks, the North–South high-speed railway, green transportation systems, and smart cities.
As a result, BMOM graduates enter the workforce at a time when demand for highly skilled professionals in transportation and mobility management is rapidly increasing and remains largely unmet.
An Interdisciplinary Curriculum Powered by Industry 4.0 Technologies
A defining feature of BMOM is its interdisciplinary approach, combining economics, management, and advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
Students develop competencies not only in transportation operations and system management but also in transportation data analytics, transport project evaluation, logistics, and supply chain management. This unique combination of skills creates a comprehensive professional profile rarely offered by existing programs in Vietnam. In addition, students have opportunities to participate in international exchange programs, further enhancing their global competitiveness.
Experiential Learning Through the Advanced M.O.V.E System Laboratories
Beyond classroom learning, BMOM students gain practical experience through the M.O.V.E System, a network of four specialized laboratories: SEE Living Lab, Smart Mobility Lab, CE-Rail@UEH, and CTrl Lab.
Among them, CE-Rail@UEH focuses on railway and metro systems, providing students with access to simulations of operational models, transportation data, and technology-driven solutions closely aligned with industry practices. Students also participate in domestic and international study visits, allowing them to observe firsthand how multimodal transportation systems are operated and managed in real-world contexts.
Financial Support and Early Career Opportunities
UEH offers scholarships to 100% of admitted BMOM students, including both full and partial scholarships, significantly reducing financial burdens from the very first semester. At the same time, students receive support in securing internships and practical training opportunities with businesses, organizations, and government agencies in sectors such as railways, aviation, public transportation, and maritime transport. These experiences not only help students build professional skills but also enable them to establish valuable industry networks in fields with strong and growing employment demand.
Together, these four advantages create a distinctive learning journey that combines scholarship opportunities, practice-oriented education, and early industry exposure. By aligning academic training with real-world workforce needs, BMOM prepares graduates to become highly qualified professionals ready to contribute to the future of smart mobility and sustainable urban development.
