Workshop Univers Tour Tien Phong Nam 2026: “Green Building Standards and Their Impact on Material Selection: A Key Factor for Sustainable Development in the Construction Industry”
On the afternoon of May 28, 2026, at Hall B1.302 – Nguyen Tri Phuong Campus, the Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM), University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), in collaboration with Tien Phong Plastic South Joint Stock Company, successfully organized the workshop titled “Green Building Standards and Their Impact on Material Selection: A Key Factor for Sustainable Development in the Construction Industry” as part of the Univers Tour Tien Phong Nam 2026 series under the message “Igniting Aspirations, Guiding the Future.”
The event marked the beginning of the collaboration between UEH and Tien Phong Plastic South, while also aiming to strengthen the connection between the University, businesses, and students. Through this initiative, the program sought to promote academic spirit, innovation, and practical applications in education, thereby contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for Vietnam’s sustainable construction and infrastructure sectors.
The workshop attracted more than 200 students interested in construction, materials, urban infrastructure, and sustainable development. Beyond sharing professional knowledge, the program also created opportunities for meaningful exchanges surrounding current trends in green, smart, and sustainable development within the construction industry.
The workshop was honored to welcome distinguished representatives from the Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM) – University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), including: Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Mai, M.Arch. – Program Director of Architecture and Smart Urban Design; Dr. Huynh Van Khang, Architect – Lecturer, Head of Community Engagement; and Ms. Le Thi Thuy Tien – Head of Communications, Head of the Organizing Committee.
From Tien Phong Plastic South Joint Stock Company, the event welcomed the presence of: Mr. Pham Hong Tuan – Deputy Director of Sales; Mr. Ha Ngoc Vien – Head of Southeast Region Sales Department; Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam – Head of Marketing Department; Mr. Son Hoang Danh – Southeast Region Sales Supervisor; and Mr. Phi Manh Hung – Market Development Specialist.
In her opening remarks, Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Mai, M.Arch., representative of the Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM), emphasized that amid rapid urbanization, urban development today is no longer solely focused on modern structures, but also prioritizes green, sustainable, and environmentally friendly solutions. Through Univers Tour 2026, ISCM hopes to provide students with more opportunities to gain closer access to industry practices, emerging materials, infrastructure technologies, and modern urban operation solutions. At the same time, the program also contributes to strengthening collaboration between universities and businesses, helping students broaden their career perspectives, better understand market demands, and become more prepared for their future professional journeys.
Representing Tien Phong Plastic South Joint Stock Company, Mr. Pham Hong Tuan, Deputy Director of Sales, also shared insights into the company’s development orientation and the significance of the Univers Tour series in fostering connections between businesses and the younger generation of students. Representatives from both organizations exchanged flowers and commemorative gifts as a gesture of appreciation for their partnership and collaboration.
Within the framework of the program, Tien Phong Plastic South also awarded scholarships from the “Green Future Creation Scholarship Fund” to students majoring in Architecture and Smart Urban Design at ISCM. This initiative not only recognized students’ academic efforts and perseverance but also demonstrated the company’s commitment to supporting a dynamic, creative young generation dedicated to sustainable development values.
A highlight of the workshop was the presentation delivered by Mr. Phi Manh Hung, Market Development Specialist at Tien Phong Plastic South Joint Stock Company, who shared valuable insights on a highly relevant topic in the context of the global transition toward green and sustainable development. In addition to introducing popular green building certification systems such as LEED, EDGE, and LOTUS, the workshop also provided practical perspectives on green material trends, sustainable water supply and drainage solutions, as well as challenges facing Vietnam’s material market amid the accelerating green transition. Through these discussions, students gained a clearer understanding that sustainable development is no longer merely a future option, but is gradually becoming an essential standard in the construction and urban development industry.
Toward the end of the program, students enthusiastically participated in an interactive minigame designed to review the key knowledge shared throughout the workshop. The lively atmosphere and engaging questions related to green building standards, sustainable materials, and modern urban development trends helped students reinforce their understanding in a more interactive and accessible way. The activity also created additional opportunities for networking and interaction among speakers, businesses, and participating students.
The workshop concluded with a commemorative photo session, networking activities at the product experience booth, and further interactions with the business representatives. Through Univers Tour Tien Phong Nam 2026, ISCM and Tien Phong Plastic South hope to continue spreading the spirit of innovation, strengthening the connection between academia and industry, and inspiring younger generations to proactively create green and sustainable values for the future of Vietnam’s urban development.
