The Master of Smart City and Innovation Management (MSCIM) program at the Institute of Smart City and Management, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH-ISCM), is designed with flexible learning pathways and an interdisciplinary curriculum, allowing students to personalize their academic journey according to their career aspirations.
The program is designed with an interdisciplinary approach, integrating knowledge from management, technology, urban planning, and sustainable development. One of the most distinctive features of the MSCIM program is its flexible learning pathways, allowing students to choose a study direction that aligns with their career goals, research interests, and personal circumstances. According to the updated 2025 admission information from UEH, the program currently offers three pathway options, enabling learners to gain in-depth knowledge while expanding their international perspective and practical experience.
Pathway 1: Full-time Study at UEH – 2 Years
This is the most common pathway for learners who wish to complete the entire program in Vietnam within two years. It is suitable for students who want to build a strong academic foundation within the UEH learning environment while maintaining a balance between study and work.
During their studies at ISCM, students will gain interdisciplinary knowledge in urban governance, innovation, technology, and sustainable development. The program emphasizes the development of analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to apply knowledge to real-world urban challenges.
Upon completion, students will receive the Master of Smart City and Innovation Management (MSCIM) degree awarded by UEH.
Pathway 2: Dual Degree Opportunity – 18 Months at UEH and 6 Months Internationally
Study Exchange at Handong Global University (South Korea) – Connecting Technology and Sustainable Development
During their study period at HGU, students will explore topics related to the relationship between humans, the environment, and social systems, especially within the context of digital transformation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The program enables learners to better understand how technology and interdisciplinary thinking can be applied to address contemporary urban development challenges.
After graduation, students will receive two master’s degrees:
Master of Smart City and Innovation Management (MSCIM) awarded by UEH
Master of Human Ecology and Technology awarded by Handong Global University
Study Exchange at Hasselt University (Belgium) – A Multidisciplinary Perspective on Transport and Urban Development
UHasselt is internationally recognized for its strong research programs in sustainable transport and urban planning. During their studies there, students will gain a multidisciplinary perspective on transportation, covering social, psychological, environmental, infrastructure, and urban planning aspects.
This approach helps learners better understand the role of transportation systems in promoting economic growth, improving living environments, and enhancing citizens’ quality of life.
Upon completing the program, students will receive two master’s degrees:
Master of Smart City and Innovation Management (MSCIM) awarded by UEH
Master of Transportation Sciences awarded by Hasselt University
